Our goal is to ensure satellite safety by testing that all temperatures of the satellite are within operable ranges.

We run simulations using Thermal Desktop, learn about thermal control, and make documentation on thermal analyses.

Undergraduate researchers learn about methods of heat transfer such as conduction, radiation, and convection. They also gain experience with ANSYS thermal suite and Thermal Desktop, and understand how passive and active thermal control is used to ensure component safety on the satellites being designed.
