Our goal is to support the team by managing the physical design of the satellite and planning for its assembly. We consider everything relating to the physical structure—from the stability of the structure under loading to the routing of wires and the tolerance in dimensioning bolt holes.  Structures also manages a few important documents which track every component on the satellite, material properties, the process of assembly, and mass, as well as other documentation that tracks design changes and testing.

Day-to-day operations on the team include using CAD software to design 3D printed tests, creating and updating documentation, and working with other subsystems to ensure a successful integration.  Undergraduate researchers gain hands-on experience using CAD design software, 3D printing, and maintaining project documentation. Besides learning technical skills, members learn teamwork and communication skills in an environment modeled off modern engineering business practices.
