Our goal is to successfully integrate hardware and software into our satellite that will determine satellite orientation in space as well as control orientation to obtain desired pointing. To accomplish this goal, the SSRL has purchased a complete ADCS 3-axis solution from a private company called cubespace. 

The team is currently engaged in testing the performance of the sensors and actuators on our ADCS unit as well as designing software per CubeSpace instructions that can properly interface with the ADCS units proprietary software and algorithms. Members also participate in the planning, troubleshooting, and implementation of MATLAB simulations necessary for streamlining our systems usage on-orbit. 

Undergraduate researchers learn flight dynamics and control principles, software design, MATLAB simulation, orbital mechanics, project management skills, as well as fundamental principles and procedures when handling delicate commercial hardware.
