Current work on the project is attacking these challenges from multiple angles.
In-depth simulations for the behavior of HyCUBE before and during reentry are being developed, with their results driving many of the design parameters of the satellite itself.
Radio communications hardware
To determine how instrumentation should be used on the vehicle, simulation data is being used to evaluate the placement of sensors and analyze the uncertainty associated with different amounts and arrangements.
At the same time, the communication hardware that will be used to transmit the data produced by those sensors is currently undergoing component-level testing to determine data-rate capabilities and reliability.
